Communication with Parents It is the policy of the school to foster good communication and close co-operation between parents and teachers. Information about the work going on in the school is provided on a regular basis through notes, letters, news-sheets and posters. Pupils’ progress is reported at verbal consultations which take place in October and February/March. Written reports are sent home at the end of each school year. Parents are also welcome in the school at any time to discuss a child's work and progress. Parents are fully involved in dealing with any problems which arise. Each pupil has a homework diary which informs parents of the work pupils have to do each evening. It also forms a line of communication between home and school. Where a parent perceives a problem it is anticipated that he/she will contact the class teacher or Head of Department immediately. All concerns will be dealt with promptly. | Parent Teachers' Association A flourishing P.T.A. exists in the school and the Annual General Meeting is held in September. The Annual Meeting of Parents is held in November. The P.T.A. offers parents a forum for discussion, organises social events, provides refreshments at school events and raises valuable funds for the school. Parents’ Notice Board A notice board in the foyer is used to post notices of interest to parents. |
