| Welcome to the Preparatory Department Dalriada Preparatory Department is part of Dalriada School, a voluntary grammar school founded in 1878 and situated at St James's Road, Ballymoney. The School is set in 22 acres of playing fields, lawns and woodlands. Head of Preparatory Department: Miss S Lyons. The Preparatory Department is a non-denominational fee paying school for pupils aged 4-11 years. The Preparatory Department is situated in a wing of the main Dalriada building. Pupils come to us from a wide geographical area including : Ballycastle, Bushmills, Portstewart, Portrush, Castlerock, Garvagh, Kilrea and Coleraine. Each well equipped classroom has its own computers. We benefit from the excellent facilities of the grammar school including the Sports Hall, Gymnasium, Playing Fields, the Computer Suites , Library and technical assistance. In Dalriada Prep we are dedicated to the provision of an excellent education which helps pupils develop academically, physically, socially and emotionally. Great emphasis is placed on creating an atmosphere in which our pupils are happy and contented as we believe that happy pupils achieve their potential. We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities as well as a sound academic education. The atmosphere in the school is friendly, happy and caring and we value the involvement of parents who are made welcome in the school.
